Balinese Fire Dance
Cak Dance of Fire (Fire Dance) is a part of Cak Ramayana Dance performance. This dance is known as a colossal dance involving 50 to 150 dancers who mostly male. The male dancers are performing in babuletan clothing (a patterned fabric used in ceremonies).
During the play, all the male dancers are sitting in a circle around a temple shaped lamp. The attraction of this show lies in the colorful costume of the dancers and the traditional Balinese orchestra, gamelan. In general, the Cak dance tells a story of the abduction of Sita, a Hindunese goddess.
